It’s all About the Culture…

There is a common misnomer when it comes to technology projects – the technology solution itself is the most important element. That’s simply wrong… It’s all about the company culture.

All technology projects are essentially business and people projects. Even though technology solutions solve big needs, understanding their impact on an organization and its culture is the most significant piece. It must be addressed or projects can fail.

Culture isn’t a proclamation: “We are an innovative culture that embraces change!” Rather, culture comprises a shared passion and belief system, which results in consistency in operation and an organizational structure that sustains constant change.

By nature, humans are wired to feel more comfortable with what’s familiar. That’s why we park in the same parking place and eat the same food for lunch, day after day. Familiarity feels safe. Companies that have cracked the culture code have figured out how to build a culture where continuous change actually feels familiar.

Establishing this culture of constant change is difficult. It takes time, commitment and expertise. Yet, given the feverishly paced, technology-driven world we live in today, can your organization afford not to make this investment?
