Medicaid 1115 Metrics and Analytics Program Receives Healthcare Industry Innovation Award
CVP Provides Strategic and Technological Expertise
Fairfax, Virginia, June 8, 2017 — The third annual FedHealthIT Innovation Awards, presented by FedHealthIT magazine, has recognized the Medicaid 1115 Performance Metrics Database and Analytics (PMDA) program for its development of an open source-based, cloud-hosted, Medicaid 1115 data analytics technology platform. The award is given to the top 25 programs and teams behind innovation at Veterans Affairs (VA), Military Health, Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The 1115 PMDA system was developed by CVP, a strategy and technology consulting company.
“Under 1115 demonstrations, states are exploring alternative models of service delivery and financing with the aim of improving healthcare quality, driving better health outcomes while bending the cost curve.” said CVP CEO Anirudh Kulkarni. “The PMDA system provides states and CMS the data and analytics to enable robust program oversight, carry out policy-oriented research and perform evaluations at the state/federal levels”.
Nominated and chosen by peers, the award winners distinguished themselves for “their willingness to take on achievable risk, and more importantly, to deliver real results in support of their mission,” according to FedHealthIT magazine.
Following an agile development methodology and user-centered design methodologies, CVP utilized open source software within a cloud-hosted environment to implement the system functionality. By successfully integrating with multiple CMS Shared Services, the system has realized savings for CMS through a lower Total Cost of Ownership in the long-term.
The official award ceremony took place on June 6 2017 at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, DC.
