CVP’s Mobile App Design Receives Top Prize from CMS and Challenge.gov
Fairfax, VA – October 28, 2016 – Responding to a Design Challenge from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CVP innovated and delivered a mobile app concept that increases access to information and support to over one million Medicare health care providers. CVP was one of five teams that received $10,000 each for winning the Phase I challenge.
CVP’s design focused on helping clinicians and support staff to navigate Medicare’s Quality Payment Program. Many users work in small clinical practices that are just starting to deal with electronic health records.
“Challenge.gov is helping accelerate innovation in an era of continuous change,” said Anirudh Kulkarni, CVP CEO. “Agencies are constantly looking for fresh ways to adapt to changing consumer expectations and mobile is just one of the ways to reach them.”
CVP’s design taps into CMS’s existing enterprise capabilities, as well as CMS data available in Data.gov. It integrates Medicare Learning Network modules and provides access to real-time help through a chat bot. It guides providers to Medicare.gov Physician Compare profile information.
Using these design ideas, CMS plans to create a mobile platform that will give health care providers more up-to-date information and guidance so they can report to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
“Although we are known more for our enterprise-caliber transformation skills, we are just as pleased to be recognized for our mobile and digital user experience and innovation expertise,” said Mr. Kulkarni.
The four evaluation criteria for the Ideation Phase were: ease of navigation, user feedback options, innovative design, and look and feel.
