ISO 27001 Certification

Fairfax, VA – July 14, 2016 – CVP has taken a step forward in validating the quality of its IT security services. On July 14, it was certified as compliant with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (Information Security Management System). CVP underwent a week-long, on-site review of its policies, procedures, and operations by an accredited, independent auditor, as well as months of preparation.

As an set of standards issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 specifies requirements for “establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization.” It also sets specifications for the “assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization.”

Increasingly, federal acquisition services are requiring ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 certification as a prerequisite for bidding on contracts. As of the latest ISO figures (2014), only 664 U.S. companies held this certification.
