Sep 14, 2010 | Cybersecurity, National Security, News Release

Fairfax, VA – September 14, 2010 – Customer Value Partners (CVP), a business and IT consulting firm that helps Fortune 500 firms and government agencies maximize operational efficiencies and reduce costs in order to achieve their organizational goals, today announced that Mary Ellen Condon has joined the firm’s Public Sector Unit as Director of Information Protection Solutions within CVP’s CIO Solutions Practice.

Given the movement to Gov 2.0, Open Government and social media involvement, as well as a stringent focus on privacy and transparency, Information Assurance/Protection is key to effective program delivery to the agency’s internal and external customers/constituents. The ability for constituents to safely interact online with government and trust that the data is secure is of paramount importance. Therefore the voice of constituents must be considered when planning Cyber initiatives, and establishing their trust is critical to the programs that Ms. Condon will lead.

Ms. Condon, who most recently served as Principal, Assurance and Resilience (cyber security) at Booz Allen Hamilton, arrives at CVP with over 30 years of executive level experience in Government and Industry, leading IT and Information Assurance programs. In this role, she won the President’s Award at the FED 100 Award Dinner in 2010 for work across government and industry to enhance the mutual goals of better and more cost effective constituent programs. Ms. Condon’s Government career includes leading a multi-agency USDA business program, the Federal Feeding program, now called WBSCM. At CVP, Ms. Condon will work directly with Federal clients to help them improve their Information Protection Programs, helping agencies ensure reliability of privacy and security, as well availability of the right information at the right time for the right person.

“CVP’s intense focus on Information Protection helped our client at the Food Safety and Inspection Service win USDA’s Cyber Security Agency of the Year,” said Anirudh Kulkarni, Managing Principal, Customer Value Partners. “Mary Ellen brings a combination of Government and private sector Information Technology and Security expertise that is unparalleled, and we are excited to share her expertise with our clients to further enhance their Information Protection programs. In the ever-changing cyber landscape, it is more important than ever to re-establish trust in online collaboration as a key to frictionless business and government.”

During her 10 years in industry, Ms. Condon identified the relevance of the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) to Department of Justice and Homeland Security information identification and sharing programs such as E-Verify and Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR). She assumed leadership of newly formed Cyber Security teams and established Information Assurance programs while at Booz Allen Hamilton and SRA. As a federal government executive, Ms. Condon was engaged in major transformative cross government initiatives as a founding member of the CIO Council and its security committee; chair of the Information Technology Resources Board (ITRB); a member of OMB/GSA’s working group on IT and acquisition reform; and chair of the GSA Program Management (Trail Boss) Council which focused on improving acquisition and project/program management. She also held roles as Director of Information Management and Security at the U.S. Department of Justice and Director Information Resources Management at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“CVP has earned an impressive track record in helping Federal agencies improve information security and accuracy through a comprehensive IT PMO, strong C&A services, and agility in continuous improvement and pre-planning programs for new regulations as they arise,” said Ms. Condon. “CVP has just made the INC 5000 for the fourth year in a row, and I’m excited to join a talented group of professionals committed to serving public sector clients.”
